Vices Versa: A Culinary Journey of Impeccable Paired Plates and Local Flavors

Great meal, I really like the tenge way the menu is set. Each plate is paired with the right wine. The quality off the food is fantastic and if you like to picky your own bottle of wine they have a comprehensive list to chose from. Overall, great experience. This is not a fast turn around kind of place.

This was a very good dining experience in a comfortable and stylish setting. We had - between the amuse bouche, and the 3 selection apiece - an opportunity to taste quite a few wonderful and well prepared dishes, most prepared with local ingredients. There were assorted mushrooms delightful in the different textures and jazzed up with a local bacon and a fabulous veal chop. We had ravioli of braised lamb that melted in your mouth with richness but complimented by cool, crisp water cress. We also had two versions of Halibut, one sautéd, the other poached and both sauced just right. We both still talk, however, about the dessert, a piping hot apple bread pudding (not too sweet) with creamy maple ice-cream. The wine list was very good, focused on food wines and offered a nice range of prices. Our service was friendly, accommodating to our English and efficient. We would definitely recommend!

Excellent concept. Two chefs, each prepares the same produce but their own way. Plates are appetizer sized or a bit bigger so you can choose 2 or 3. But regardless of the concept the food is worth eating there. One of the best tables of the region.

Excellent food, service, and value. Impossible to beat in this, or perhaps any region of the country. The chefs have lively imaginations and are willing to take risks, which adds an element of excitement to the experience. One may quibble with this or that level of refinement or wine pairing, but doing so will only somehow add to the seduction.

We had a very pleasant and full of taste dinner. Service was excellent and the lady very polite and skilled. We got her attention when necessary and food was served perfectly. No regrets. Everything was clear about costs so no surprises. If you want to enjoy a classy dinner , that’s the place.

Lovely venue, beautifully designed tone casually elegant. Lovely staff and an amazing menu. Two ‘competing’ chefs with their own menus which you pick and choose from for 2 or 3 plates. Nice concept and amazing food.

This is a DESTINATION restaurant! We would, and will, return to La Malbaie again if only for this restaurant as it exceeded all expectations. Coming from the wine region of northern California and finding this gem was beyond compare... The design of the restaurant sets the tone for an unbelievable experience. Service was gracious, warm, perfectly paced, and very knowledgeable..., and descriptions were spot on regarding the plates and wine pairings. The menu very interesting and the chefs as well. The menu is split in two columns, the left side is HIS take on how to prepare the chosen selection, the right side HERS. It is a couple who own and are in the kitchen for 15 years now. I hope they stay for many more as we will return for many more hopefully... Bravo!

We just left this wonderful restaurant ! I have a severe gluten allergy and they accommodated me wonderfully! Food was memorable and amazing! Artic char, Lamb, scallops and halibut all fantastic! Run, don’t walk to this charming spot!!
